Well, my dear
friends it’s official.
Colby and I are officially
house hunters!!!! We are pretty much bursting with excitement to own our own
place in of the city we love so much.
Here’s something
you may not know about me.
I am a
researcher.
Seriously, I
have been following the Phoenix
real estate market closely for about two years now...There are three things I
know about this market for sure;
There
are not a lot of homes for sale
There
are many people who want to buy houses
There
is no "good time" or "bad time" to buy in Phoenix ...it's
always buying season here, and you need to act fast
With these
things in mind, it's easy to see why a buyer absolutely HAS to be savvy when
trying to buy a piece of real estate...
So we begin our
house-buying adventures. We are currently in
"education mode," which is my fancy way of saying, spending countless
hours on the MLS portal looking at pictures over and over again and then again,
And spending hours on Pinterest coming up with ideas for DIY-ing, decorating,
and of course renovating.
In terms of what
we are looking for, we both have lists (yes, listS haha!) Let's begin with the "Wants," shall we?
Wants:
Structurally
sound
Heck no:
Ghetto
neighborhood
Small
back yard
As you can
clearly see, our lists are neither extensive nor overly specific.
I think that’s a
good start. What do you think? Home owners, do you have any tips or suggestions
for me? (Perhaps I missed something in my research)

eep! so exciting. Congrats to you both. Just make sure to take your time and not settle for a house you sorta like.
Make sure you have a guest bedroom for Katie and me.

Haha! I see myself in you – looking at house pictures over and over again, and spending time on Pinterest to get DIY home decorating ideas. :D On a more important note, your somewhat generic list can be helpful. In a way, you can quickly separate the potential houses from the rest. But once you’ve narrowed down your options, you have to be more specific. With that, you could spend more time browsing pins! Kidding. XD -->Avril
That’s a good start! Do you already know what you want in a house? How about your budget? I think it is also important that you set a definite budget too. I hope you’ll soon find your dream house! Good luck to your DIY-ing!

You’ll have limitless choices in Pinterest! It looks like you are enjoying your search. I agree with Lakisha that aside from the “looks”, you should also determine your budget. Have a clear idea of your wants and needs and make sure that it’ll meet your budget.
